You have just invited me over for coffee. (Thank you, I accept!) I ask you, “So tell me, dear friend, what was the best part of your holidays?” And you proudly show me the following pictures: (don’t forget to tell me the story behind the pictures!)

I am repeating myself but spending Christmas with my family was the best part of my holidays. This picture was taken just before Ryan, Chantelle and I hit the road back to Bury St. Edmunds. Chantelle and mum’s eyes are closed in this picture but this is the only picture I have of them. I didn’t realize their eyes were closed until the pictures were loaded on the computer.

My mum’s cooking is the best. ^^. I especially love the lechon kawali that she prepared for us and the visitors. It’s been a few months since I had some and I enjoyed every bite! My mum made some lechon paksiw the next day too which made it even better. So yeah, the foods that my mum cooked or prepared were one of the best part of the holidays.

You know what I do every year? I buy a new paper journal. I always get inspired to write in it within the first few months, but then around middle of the year, I totally lose interest. :P. I am a typical Gemini. I start a project and in the middle of that project I get bored. I’d find something new to do and guess what? I get bored again and so it goes on and on. It’s a vicious circle. I hate myself for it but what can I do? I think I’ll forever be like this so I must learn to accept the way I am. :P

Do you know that five or six years ago, I actually wanted to apply for some cheap loans so that I could buy Christmas presents for my love ones? I even wanted to apply for credit cards from creditors, so I could kick start my Christmas shopping. Life was very hard then and sometimes when times are really that tough, you have to do what you can for your family. I would never have let my family go through Christmas without having to open at least one present. That would have been a horrible way to spend the Christmas holidays.

I really wanted to eat Filipino food yesterday like ginataan and caldereta, but the Filipiniana restaurant was closed when we got there. I was very disappointed because it’s been awhile (5 days. lol) since I had Filipino food. We went back to base with empty stomach. The good thing about our journey back to base was the beautiful sunset. Good thing I took my SLR with me yesterday. ^^

Chantelle’s really achieved a lot at her current school. I want to put what she wrote on here, but I am not sure if I should as it’s not even published yet. I will, as soon as the young writers anthology is out. ^^

Ryan and I are only twenty-eight but we are already thinking of getting a new pension plan as soon as we leave the military. First of all we must familiarize ourselves with different types of annuity options such as variable annuities. There are some online brochures out there that will help explain and let us know of what we are getting ourselves into. I personally think pensions are important to begin as early as possible in our lives so we can get the most out of our golden years. It is great to know that after we retire, we are be able to do what we want with less worry about money.
